- Albums on the way out? Interesting story following a new band, signed by Universal, who weren’t signed for an album, but just for two songs. Apparently a new approach to an iTunes world. (Source: New York Times)
- DARPA funding T2 research. Remember that second Terminator–the mean skinny cop? Liquid metal so he could squeegee under doors or into the PS3’s profit margin. Seems that the Pentagon likes the idea and so DARPA is asking for help inventing a “chemical robot” with similar characteristics. I’d laugh, but these are the same guys who invented the Internet. - Hello, I’m a Mac and I’m less secure than a PC. Hey, at least according to a study done by Symantec. And, supposedly, the author’s arrived at this conclusion via ‘cold hard stats’. That’s one study I’m gonna read closely and get back on the results in another post. If it’s true, I’m kicking Sasquatch’s ASS!!! Hard! With a 2×4. And a couple of ten penny nails through one end. Then again, Symantec’s built their business on Windows security, so I’ll be taking this with a grain of salt till then. (Source: Trusted Reviews)
- Washington spicing up driver’s license with RFID. Dropping a smart chip onto a driver’s license means more than just making it harder to fake the things. Washington is making the move to also include proof-of-citizenship information so WA citizens won’t need to bring their passports to back and forth to Canada. ‘Course if WA and Canada can do it… (Source: Seattlepi)
