Nerd News Today; 3/28

- Virtual Worlds 2007 NYC today. The annual virtual online universe trade show is today in NYC–and yeah, I’ll be going. Covers online universes (like Makena, Second Life, etc.) and related technologies, business opportunties, etc. Expect some more postings on this. (Source: Virtual Worlds)
- CTIA going on now as well. The CTIA wireless show is also mid-stream in Orlano right now with loads of vendors showing off new phones and other related gadgetry. (Source: CNET)
- Yahoo talking about unlimited email storage. According to an Australian report, Yahoo execs are saying the company intends to offer unlimited email storage starting in May. See storage is cheap, but is it really that cheap? Plus, Yahoo has one of the nicest email readers out there. Oliver sees potential for some real abuse here. Yahoo better watch it. (Source: ITWire)
- The xBox 360 Elite is confirmed. This is an upscaled version of the xBox to be dubbed ‘Elite’. She’ll cost $479.99, hit around the end of April, and carry upgraded features, including a sexier black finish, a 120GB hard disk, HDMI connectors and a high-def cable. It’ll also have a series of optional external periphs, including another 120GB hard disk, a new controller, an extra battery and a ’Play & Charge’ kit. No word on a new HD-DVD drive, tho. Maybe that slipped the rumor mill. But didn’t the PS3 try this hi-end console thing and kinda get stepped on? (Source: Monsters & Critics)

Yeah…the PS3 did get stepped on…but I’d like to point that the X-Box 360 isn’t an over-powered piece of we-all-know-what.
I think this new 360 will help bring more new converts over to the world of Xbox. PS3 sucks. Better yet…get a Wii. The end.

Yeah, I got a Wii right here. Actually, I do. Love the thing.
