- Yet more virtualization news. Virtualization has to be one of the bigger industry buzzwords since…Pong. Anyway, there’s yet more news in this dept.: the Xen people just announced a new XenEnterprise, which boasts better Windows support and will be out in June. (Source: CNET)
- InfoWorld’s last print issue yesterday. They wasted no time. It’s not dead or folding — InfoWorld is aiming to be the premiere online-only tech news, reviews and info source. But for those of us who enjoyed writing for the old print mag, we’ve got to say we’re sorry to see the last of paper even while we’re excited about all the new possibilities that a Web-only pub might offer. - Vonage does a deal. Folks were wondering if Vonage was a dead company walking after it lost its anti-patent suit against Verizon. But instead, the Vonagers have decided to just sign a two-year agreement with another VoIP services company. Hey, if you can’t beat ‘em…switch. (Source: Ars Technica)
- Virgin puts out set-top box. A bit weird: it’s called the VBox and it uses standard phone lines. Meant for customers of the Talk Anytime service, it can also be purchased by folks who don’t subscribe to that service for a one-time setup fee of $78. They also say you can’t have cable access to use the service–though I’m not sure how they’ll control that. But if you get it, you get 40 channels, 25 radio stations, an on-screen programming guide and low power consumption. Gotta see if I can test one of these. (Source: DailyTech)
