- Sony to do 1mil:1 aspect ratio TV. This is the OLED TV that Sony showed us at CES 2007 in January. Only problem is that it’s not the 27-inch model we saw at CES that would be capable of full 1080p resolution. Instead it’s going to be an 11-inch (nope, not a typo) capable of 1024×600. Sigh. - Review of new Bubba Linux server appliance. Purty cool little deal. Barely bigger than an external hard disk, because that’s primarily what it is: an 80GB-750GB external disk but with a pile of server tools (enough to make it a full SOHO office or home server), including mail, FTP, Web server, music and video streaming, backup software and more. European so you’re talking between 330 and 600 euros. (Source: Linux.com)
- Intel phases out three Xeons. What I love most about this story is the term “product discontinuance program”. What twerp thought up that phrase?! So it’s the 2.4- and 2.8GHz DP Xeons and the low-voltage 2.0GHz model. Gone and soon to be forgotten. (Source: TG Daily)
- Axim’s dead, but Dell looking at Palm. This one’s circulating the rumor mill. But it seems that even tho it didn’t do well with its Windows-based Axim PDA, Dell is now looking at buying Palm so it can get its mitts on the Treo smartphone. Might be good having Dell behind it, but lets hope this move doesn’t get it into more accounting trouble. (Source: PC World)
