How not to run a Web store, part II

I’m starting to feel kinda bad for Sam Ash. A little. Because this is why we have business continuity plans, right? Hot sites, cold sites, backups, production and development servers and so forth… right? With the simply enormous amount of hardware and software available to ensure that problems like this either don’t happen, or are quickly recoverable, I’m just shocked that such a large Web commerce site would fail this badly. It’s kinda like kicking a puppy now.
